According to New Jersey resident Ruth Mirrer, age 81, the verdict is in on GoGoGrandparent’s previously announced public-private partnership:

Keeping Seniors Active and Independent
Ruth Mirrer shared that she loves using GoGoGrandparent to get to her favorite activities — including classes at the Madison Area YMCA.
“It has nothing to do with whether you can drive; it’s whether you want to drive,” Mirrer said. “And if you don’t go out at night anymore because you’re afraid, or your cataracts prevent you from seeing the lines on the road, this is perfect.”
Through this partnership, older adults in Chatham and Madison can request affordable, reliable transportation without using an app — simply by calling a phone number. Each ride of up to 15 miles costs only $5, thanks to support from the Tri-Town 55+ Coalition and the Grotta Fund for Senior Care.

“People can do things they haven’t been able to do in a long time.”

As TransOptions President John Ciaffone shared in the interview:
“Transportation is a major issue in almost everything that anybody talks about. And with seniors in particular, a lot of the senior transportation that does exist is geared toward medical, and there’s nothing for social, which is so important. We want to have seniors age in place.”
