Why I Started GoGoGrandparent—and Why We’re Hiring
I experienced this reality firsthand when my grandmother lost her ability to drive. She lives far from relatives, with no access to public transportation. For years, she imagined she’d stay in her home forever. When she stopped driving, that vision was in jeopardy.
She didn’t want to leave. She didn’t want to give up her independence. But she also didn’t have many options.
A Personal Story That Sparked a National Mission
Watching someone you love struggle with something as basic as getting around is a wake-up call. We didn’t want grandma’s independence to end just because driving did.
So we tried something simple: we gave her a phone number to call when she needed a ride. Using her old-school flip phone, she dialed GoGo, and we got her a Lyft to her favorite diner. That was the first time she went out alone after dark in a year.
It was a small moment, but it changed everything. We realized that helping one person reclaim their independence could be the start of something bigger.
That’s how GoGoGrandparent began.
GoGoGrandparent Careers Are About Solving Aging’s Toughest Problems
Aging in Place Isn’t Easy—But It Should Be
Since that first ride, we’ve learned that providing transportation for seniors isn’t just about simplifying tech. It’s about actively managing the entire experience—from when a ride is booked to when it’s safely completed. Seniors deal with more complexity as they age, and GoGo’s job is to absorb that complexity so they don’t have to.
Today, 40% of our clients have smartphones, but they still choose GoGo because “it’s just easier.” That’s a testament to our platform—and our people.
But we’re not stopping at rides. The challenges that come with aging don’t end at the curb. They’re layered, personal, and growing. We believe the same approach—technology backed by real human care—can solve problems across the entire caregiving spectrum.
From Rides to Real Change
We’re not just a tech layer on top of Uber or Lyft. We’re a service that manages aging with intention, dignity, and trust. We intervene when things go wrong, communicate with family members, and track the details that make all the difference.
Every ride, every phone call, every dashboard update—it all adds up to a bigger vision: helping people stay in their homes, on their terms, for as long as they want.
What Makes a GoGoGrandparent Career Different
Mission-Driven Work
This isn’t a job—it’s a mission. We’re tackling some of the hardest problems in elder care, accessibility, and independence. The work is complex, but it matters deeply.
Real Impact at a Human Scale
You won’t just push pixels or write code that disappears into a product backlog. You’ll help someone’s parent get to a doctor’s appointment. You’ll make it easier for a retiree to visit friends. You’ll build tools that let people live fuller lives.
A Team That Cares—About the Work and Each Other
At GoGo, we’re not just coworkers—we’re people who care. About seniors. About families. About doing the right thing. We move fast, work hard, and support each other. And we’re growing.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who want to make a difference.
- Passionate about elder care, accessibility, or health tech? You’ll feel right at home.
- Engineers, operators, marketers, and customer support pros—we need all hands on deck.
- Love solving hard problems that matter? We do too.
- More interested in real-world outcomes than vanity metrics? Us too.
If you're someone who sees complexity and wants to organize it, who sees aging not as a crisis but as a design challenge—we want to meet you.
